Clifden House is just as interesting from the rear of the house which sits next to the waters of Lough Inchiquin.
Music: The Wearin' Of The Green |
A sketch of Clifden House from Lough InchiquinWe walked about the property and found old out buildings, ruined now but full of mystery in their purpose and construction. Most of the rooms were easy enough to guess their function but others were unknown to us. The property has a walled garden and a fruit orchard. Boats are tied up, ready for the fisherman. An old power generator harnessed the stream that empties from the lake sometime in the past. It's works are a reminder of another time. |
