Mendocino Coast in Northern California is a very popular destination for tourists.
The locals enjoy it too. Wild salmon for "sports fishermen" is available in the local stores
and restaurants. We recently spent a few days with friends watching the waves, sampling the local wines and enjoying a relaxing retreat from the hustle bustle of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Mendocino Coast in Northern CaliforniaThere is a subtle seductiveness to the Mendocino coast This thought occurred to me while sipping coffee and munching toast Sitting on the deck looking out at the sea I felt the ancient surges swelling up in me The birds floated by in an overcasted sky Flapping no wings they effortlessly fly The waves roll in relentlessly crashing on the rocks I notice then that I am still in my socks Realizing that my mind had been seduced And my thoughts dramatically reduced I contemplate spending the rest of the day With my mind casually drifting away Suddenly I spot a sailboat far out to sea Like a hawk my attention is focused for me |
