Darkened Waters is an original poem to accompany the painting by the same name. The scene is typical of the Irish coast off Connemara near Cleggan. Views like this are part of the magic of the west coast of Ireland and while they are somewhat brooding in nature they often promise a brighter tomorrow.

Looking over darkened waters
-- As if it really even matters
For the morning will bring the sun again
With hope -- abounding then
It is good to know with the light pausing on its way
Sleep soon will sooth the troubles of the day
